Building partners information sessions
If you run a home building or trade business:
-
Do you handle the paperwork?
-
Do you have questions about running the business?
-
Would you like more information about issues such as managing contracts, home warranty insurance, Workcover requirements and asset protection?
If so, the building partners information sessions are for you!
They have been designed to provide up-to-date information to people who run home building businesses on a day-to-day basis.
What will the sessions involve?
The information sessions will involve a series of short talks by presenters from NSW Fair Trading, WorkCover NSW and private industry experts. Topics covered will include contract management, asset protection, insolvency, compliance, dispute resolution, home warranty insurance, home building licensing, WorkCover requirements and more.
Information will also be provided about other Government agencies that interact with the building industry, for example NSW Industrial Relations, the Consumer Trader & Tenancy Tribunal and more. There will also be information available from industry associations.
There will be plenty of opportunity for you to get involved and ask questions. The sessions will be held in the morning, with refreshments provided and babies in arms are more than welcome. Sorry, no childminding will be available.
Do I have to pay to attend?
No, these information sessions are free.
Where will these sessions be held?
The first session, held on 18 November 2009 at the Burwood Function Centre, was fully booked out and a great success.
Further sessions will be held across the state in 2010. While locations and approximate dates have been chosen, the final venues and specific dates are yet to be finalised. Given the popularity of the first session, we encourage you to book early for the 2010 sessions. This web page will be updated as and when these details are available.
